We are a small hatchery, and many of our flocks are free range. We have had a couple of unfortunate visits from some foxes. This is one of the drawbacks of letting flocks free range. In light of this we are sorry to say that some of our breeding stock has been reduced. We are in the process of bringing our stock back up . Unfortunately for you this means that we are not offering all of our breeds for sale at this time.  We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we should be back up to scale in about 6 months. You are welcome to place orders and we will fill them as soon as possible under the circumstances.

We will still  be selling our hatchery choice mixed breeds all year. 

 Hatchery' choice mixed breeds :

Many of our flocks are free range. This means that the different  breeds  and varities can and will cross breed. The result is a mixed breed. When you order a hatchery's choice mixed breed it could be a mix of any of the breeds that we carry. We just do not really know which breeds have mixed. We do not know what varitey ( or color) it will turn out to be.  We hope this clears up some of the confusion in ordering Hatchery's choice mixed breeds.

Straight Run :

As with all of our poultry we do not sex them, so all of our poultry is sold "straight run". This means that we do not have any idea if a chick is a male or a female. You have about a 50 -50 chance of getting a male or a female. We do not sex our chicks and will not, this also helps keep the prices down. To sex a chick is a very delicate thing, if done wrong the chick could be injured, it is also very time consuming, and most hatcheries that do sex chicks charge an extra cost. We choose not to put the chicks thru this process. We sell all of our chicks straight run.
